WhatsApp

Ted's gonna need your number.
— Ted

Ted is an agent, not a WhatsApp client. He reads and answers for you; you keep using WhatsApp as usual.

Pairing

Pair from Home or Settings › Channels: Ted shows a QR code, and you scan it in WhatsApp under Linked devices, like WhatsApp Web.

Talking to Ted

Send @ted followed by what you want to your own number (the chat with yourself), and Ted takes it from there:

text
@ted what did Ana say about Saturday?
@ted tell Diego I'll be 10 minutes late

He sounds like you

When Ted first offers, say yes and he studies how you write: your words, your laugh, how you talk to each person. Whatever he sends from your number sounds like you, never like an assistant. He reads only the messages you sent, on your Mac.

Watches

A watch on a contact lets Ted reply in your voice when that person writes and you do not answer in time. It is opt-in, per contact; Ted only runs when that happens, and tells you when a message needs you. Ask "who are you watching?" or "stop watching Diego".

Photos and stickers

  • Ask what someone sent and Ted looks at photos and stickers, older ones included.
  • "Send Diego a laughing sticker" picks one of the stickers you use most. He never sends one on his own.
  • Settings › Channels shows your favorite stickers, what Ted thinks each one says, and how often you send it.
