Voice and computer use
These live in Settings › Hands & voice, with the macOS permissions behind them.
Voice
⌥ ⌘ V opens a small floating window from any app. Talk, then stop to send; Esc cancels.
- ⌥⌘V starts recording: the window records as soon as it opens.
- Hold to talk: hold ⌥ ⌘ V, talk, let go.
macOS asks for the microphone the first time.
Computer use
When you allow it, Ted can work on your Mac, using screenshots and the accessibility of apps:
- open or bring up apps by name;
- list the visible windows;
- read what is on screen in the app in front;
- take a screenshot of the screen or a window;
- click, and type text and key combinations.
It needs the Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions. The settings show each one in red while macOS still blocks it, with a button to open System Settings.
Combine it with the Tools setting in the brain to decide whether Ted asks before each action.
Automation
When Ted needs to drive another app through Automation, macOS asks properly, and Ted appears in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Automation.
